New Cadre Contributor - Elijah Sacra

We're excited to welcome Elijah Sacra as a member of our cadre of contributors! In addition to being a United States Marine Corps veteran, he has over twenty-five years of experience in health and wellness training of tactical athletes across multiple disciplines. Elijah's cross-functional background is as deep as it is wide.

He rehabilitates our nation's wounded warriors through his non-profit, Warrior Wellness Solutions, and by serving as the Director of Functional Movement and Rehabilitation on the Task Force Dagger Special Operations Health Initiatives Medical Advisory Board.

Elijah will be contributing to the WSG Blog by providing insight into common injury patterns he sees from military members and law enforcement officers. With this insight, he'll offer practical ways to prevent these injuries from happening in the first place and to resolve them if they've already occurred so you can get back into the fight.

Three key components make Elijah an excellent fit in the WSG Cadre:

1. Tactical athlete experience - Elijah has extensive experience with training and mentoring members of US and Coalition Forces as well as law enforcement officers and firefighters. This experience has allowed him to not only identify problem patterns, but come up with ways to practically achieve improvements in quality of life for the warrior athlete. This leads to improved performance for those who return to active duty.

2. Care for those who serve - Elijah has committed most of his adult life to serving our country in some way, whether it was his time in the US Marine Corps or his non-profit work in helping wounded warriors. A large portion of his time is spent assisting non-profits. He does this with a vetted and proven track record with excellent references to ensure our veterans get high quality care.

3. Holistic approach - Elijah's approach integrates the best of what current practice research has to offer. He works in concert with physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and mental health practitioners while delivering services to populations under clinical care. These include individuals living with chronic pain, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Post-Traumatic Stress, amputees, cancer patients, the blind, and patients recovering from surgeries and burns.

As a Health Coach, Elijah’s philosophy and methodology is grounded in Integrative Nutrition Health Coaching and Burris Emotional Wellness Coaching. As a Rehabilitative Exercise Instructor, he guides his clients to move from “Pain to Performance” as an experienced Adaptive Yoga, Functional Movement, and Foundation Training instructor.

He also empowers his clients through life coaching, restoring postural alignment, enhancing proprioception and kinesthetic sense, learning breath connection, improving functional movement, increasing nutrient density for tissue and brain repair, cultivating emotional wellness, and rebuilding neuromuscular connections.

Hold on to you seats, Elijah has some outstanding articles coming.
